Carnival!!

We noticed that there was a carnival going on near our house so we decided we'd brave the heat and go check it out!
We get there and notice it's not that busy which for us was great news- that means no lines!
As we go to buy our tickets the person in the booth tells us that they're closing up!!!
The kids were so sad, not to mention the fact that it was a Saturday and we were very surprised that they would be closing down shop!
On our way out we noticed a couple of games were still open so these are the only things we were able to do on our way out!

Colben threw 3 darts at these balloons and hit a balloon on every throw!! He got a stuffed lion!
Maybe we should get him a dart board for Christmas- he was so good!
Ben can easily spend $30 on this game- he's won a bunch of times and it's fun to watch him do something that he's good at!
The Kids showing off their prizes (Danika won her stuffed pink pig just for being cute)

FIELD DAY!!

Field Day at Pecan Creek Elementary!!
I remember my field days at Grandview and man, have things changed- I didn't really know what to expect but I was just blown away by what the school had!
They had 5th graders assigned to the Kindergartener's to make sure they were okay and being safe. The Kindergartener's had a list of the activities to do pinned on their shirt and when they got done with the activity the 5th grader who was in charge of that specific activity would cross it out.
I was kinda sad that they didn't have a zip line like they did at Grandview (which, by the way, I never did dare go down-still regretting that)
I basically followed Colben and his group around trying to take pictures and making sure Danika stayed in her stroller.
They never quite got it
Throwing bean bags and trying to get them to land in the holes.
Bowling!!
Digging for treasures
Colben and his friends!
They even got their hair colored
Colben and Libby- she was so nice to Colben and is such a cutie! What a Ladies' Man!!!
He loved playing with the huge frisbies- he must have spent 30 min. throwing it and then chasing it and throwing it again.
They had 3 different types of bounce houses!!

The Texas Rangers

Some friends in our ward thought it would be fun to gather a bunch of people and go to the Texas Rangers baseball game so we joined in on the fun!!
There ended up being about 8 families there and we had such a fun time.

We could have moved down to the section below us but everyone was too hot and tired to get up and move.

Go Tornadoes

This was the last game of the season- they had such a good time playing- they will now move up a league and play on a larger field, have more players on the field and have bigger goals!

This was their cheer after the game! The coach would make sure to give a high 5 to each player and tell them how proud he was of them and how great they did. He also made sure they knew the 3 rules of the game 1- No pushing 2- No hands and 3- HAVE FUN!!!
1, 2, 3 TORNADOES!!!
Colben getting his trophy.
The Mighty Tornadoes!!!
Coach Doug and Colben- He was such a wonderful coach- i'm so glad he's going to stay their coach when they move up in the fall.
Colben can't wait to play again!

I have the nicest Friend!

For the past couple of months I had been taking my friend's son to scouts because both she and her husband worked. I then got a call from her telling me I didn't need to take him anymore so a couple of days go by and I hear a knock on the door- There sitting on my porch was a huge cookie bouquet!!

I had to take pictures of it because it was the coolest thing I had ever seen!!

Once the kids saw it they immediately wanted to take a bite out of each cookie to see if they tasted different but once they realized they were all the same they didn't want to finish them.

It was totally unexpected to get such a wonderful gift just for doing something as small as driving someone to scouts. But it just goes to show how amazing friends can be!

Date Night!!

Last night our good friend, Melina, took the kids to a party in the neighborhood that we used to live in when we first moved here and Ben and I were left with 2 1/2 hours without kids-- we didn't know what to do!!
We quickly got on the Harley and rode to the mall and just walked around- it was so nice not chasing the kids around and telling them over and over again "No, you may not get in the water fountain" or "No you don't need any candy or gum" and the best thing: We didn't have to fear walking past the Disney store!!
We did go into the video game store and got Colben a new PSP game- of course it was a motorcycle game but we made Colben a deal that he had to exchange his gold coins that he got from the Tooth Fairy (they were un-used coins from Chuck-E-Cheese) if he wanted the game and he was so excited to hand me the coins and start playing!
We then went to the Olive Garden and had a wonderful dinner. It was so nice to just have adult conversation and not be interrupted by our kids, making sure they're minding their manners, eating everything on their plates, getting them out from under the table then cleaning faces and hands.
I just wanted to post this because it was such a great date night with my hubby who I love!!!
We definitely need to do this more often!!

NKOTB- Back Together Again!!!

It's official people- New Kids on the Block have reunited and as their number 1 fan I couldn't be happier!

I remember in 6th Grade they came in concert to the Marriott Center and when tickets went on sale at Smith's my mom wouldn't let me sleep overnight to get them so my sweet sisters all took turns waiting in line that night and into the morning to make sure I got tickets to see my favorite band.

I remember getting dropped off in front of the building and just being so excited to see Jordan, Jonathan, Donny, Danny and Joey in person and to hear them sing songs like Hangin' Tough, Please Don't go Girl and The Right Stuff when before the only place I could see and hear it was MTV. It was my first concert but it is one I remember the most and have the best memories of.

I think I even cried when Joey Jo sang because I swear he was singing it just for me.

It will come as no surprise that when N'Sync came to Rice Eccles Stadium, I was there on the floor singing right along!! I was probably one of the oldest people there but I had just as much fun as everyone else. I don't think I cried but i'm pretty sure that during one of their slow songs Chris Kirkpatrick looked me right in the eye while he was singing!!

I'll be forever a boy band fan!

Here's the best part:

THEY'RE COMING TO DALLAS!!!

That's right- Oct. 19th baby. I'll be singing right along with them once again but this time it'll be all new songs- I sure hope they sing some of their old stuff too!

All I need to do now is go onto Ebay and try to find a t-shirt I can wear- I already have a towel so i'll make sure to bring that but I also need some buttons!

Surprisingly enough, i'm not alone in this- i've been able to find a group of us fans that are also excited about this reunion and will be standing right next to me and we are going to have so much fun!

LONG LIVE THE NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK!!!
