Last night our good friend, Melina, took the kids to a party in the neighborhood that we used to live in when we first moved here and Ben and I were left with 2 1/2 hours without kids-- we didn't know what to do!!
We quickly got on the Harley and rode to the mall and just walked around- it was so nice not chasing the kids around and telling them over and over again "No, you may not get in the water fountain" or "No you don't need any candy or gum" and the best thing: We didn't have to fear walking past the Disney store!!
We did go into the video game store and got Colben a new PSP game- of course it was a motorcycle game but we made Colben a deal that he had to exchange his gold coins that he got from the Tooth Fairy (they were un-used coins from Chuck-E-Cheese) if he wanted the game and he was so excited to hand me the coins and start playing!
We then went to the Olive Garden and had a wonderful dinner. It was so nice to just have adult conversation and not be interrupted by our kids, making sure they're minding their manners, eating everything on their plates, getting them out from under the table then cleaning faces and hands.
I just wanted to post this because it was such a great date night with my hubby who I love!!!
We definitely need to do this more often!!

Yes, you do need to do that more often! Dates are the best and they are the only thing that keeps me sane! Plus, if you plan ahead you have something to look forward to. Wish we had a Harley to take off on.
